Statistics Advisor at the University of Michigan Biological Station (GSI position)
The University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) seeks to hire a statistics advisor to serve as a resource for undergraduate students at UMBS in Spring and Summer Terms, 2013.  Between 60-90 undergraduates enroll each term, all of whom are conducting independent or group research projects as core components of their course work or research program.   In addition, the statistics advisor may also be asked to serve as a resource for graduate students and other investigators of all levels conducting research at UMBS.
About the Biological Station: UMBS is a field research station in Pellston, Michigan (www.lsa.umich.edu/umbs).  Each summer, 200-300 undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, faculty and staff gather each summer to conduct research and take field courses in biology, ecology and environmental science.
Appointment terms & compensation:  Ideally this 20-hour per week GSI (UM-GEO) appointment would run during both spring (May 19 - June 15) and summer (June 22 – August 17) half-terms at UMBS.  This part-time position may be ideal for a graduate student working on his/her own research, thesis or dissertation.   In addition to a salary, room and board will be provided at the Biological Station.  
Qualifications:   Qualified candidates should have at least 2 years of graduate training in statistics or biostatistics.
