Other (Women's History Month)

Greetings!

The Center for the Education is bringing two high profile women leaders to campus this March for Women's History Month.

Donna Brazile, political strategist and media contributor, will be the keynote speaker at the Women of Color Task Force Conference on March 8th at Hill Auditorium, at 8:30 am.

Jill Abramson, the first female executive director of the New York Times, is scheduled to speak on March 19th at 4:30 p.m. at the BSRB, Kahn Auditorium.

1. March 8, Women of Color Task Force (WCTF) Career Conference

Theme: "Preparation + Action + Perseverance = Success"
Keynote Speaker: Donna Brazile, political commentator.
Michigan League, 911 N. University

This annual conference features more than 25 professional development workshops, a networking luncheon, and vendor marketplace.  For the complete workshop schedule, please go to the WCTF conference website.

Conference registration is open. Fee: $100.00 Attendees ($85 for U-M Students and Retirees)


Group Rates: If one UM department will be sending 3 or more persons to the WCTF conference, please contact CEW for a discount coupon code

2. March 19, Mullin Welch Lecture: Jill Abramson, Executive Editor, New York Times.

Kahn Auditorium, BSRB, 109 Zina Pitcher Place, Ann Arbor, MI

Reserve your spot to hear CEW's 2013 Mullin Welch speaker, Jill Abramson, who is the first woman to be named executive editor of the New York Times, in the paper's 160-year history. Presentation of the Carol Hollenshead Award for Equity and Social Change. Event begins at 4:30 pm followed by a reception. Free and open to the public but registration is requested.
