Fellowship Award: United States and Canada: up to 3 year Fellowship, full tuition and fees (enrollment fees, health insurance, books) plus a stipend to be used for living expenses, travel and personal equipment, Google Research Mentor.
Institutional Limit: U-M Ann Arbor may submit up to four eligible students. Important: Students may not apply directly to Google-this could cause your application to be disqualified.
Google PhD Fellowships directly support graduate students as they pursue their PhD, as well as connect them to a Google Research Mentor. The Google PhD Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. Fellowships support promising PhD candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology. Google’s mission is to foster inclusive research communities and encourages people of diverse backgrounds to apply.
Eligibility: Full-time graduate students pursuing a PhD, completed graduate coursework by the Fall of the award year, when the Fellowship begins. This is usually the 3rd year for U.S. and Canadian students, students must remain enrolled full-time in the PhD program for the duration of the Fellowship or forfeit the award.
Timeline
Internal:Applicants applying to the internal competition will be notified of their selection during the week of September 5, 2020.
Sponsor: Applications for the 2021 program will open on September 1st, 2020 and will close on September 30, 2020 at 11:59:59 PM PST. Awardees will be notified by January 2021.
