National Geographic Young Explorers Grants public lecture and workshop

Friday, An Evening of Field Research and Exploration
William Saturno, Mayan archaeologist, and Mark Synnott, climber for The North Face will present together Friday night at a public lecture. Both are spectacular and will provide a fun evening full of science and adventure at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theater. Hosted by Dr. John Francis, vice president of research, conservation and exploration at National Geographic. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Saturno details recent archaeological discoveries in Xultun, Guatemala, and delves into the ongoing mysteries of the enigmatic Maya. Synnott shares highlights of a sailing and climbing expedition around Oman's Musandam Peninsula with his world-renowned team.

A Young Explorers Grants Workshop will be held at the Alumni Center, 200 Fletcher St, Ann Arbor. Registration: 9:45 a.m. Workshop concludes at 3 p.m. Registration launching soon!
