Inclusive Teaching @ Michigan Opportunities in May

As we close out the Winter 2016 semester I want to call your attention to the suite of Inclusive Teaching offerings via CRLT, the Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) and the LSA Inclusive Pedagogies Committee. My office has been consulting with all three groups in relation to the College's draft Diversity, Equity & Inclusion plan. One of the top five things we have heard from faculty and GSIs is the need for more opportunities for professional development around inclusive pedagogies and evidence-based practices. Here's your chance! Sessions are filling up. RSVP soon.

Warm Regards,
Angela

Please join us for a series of workshops on Inclusive Teaching during the first three weeks of May

U-M Diag full of diverse students walking

Faculty and GSIs across campus are invited to join CRLT for a series of workshops focused on building skills in inclusive teaching. The series will launch with a CRLT Players performance of A Thousand Cuts: Responding to Student Climate Concerns, a new theatre piece focused on climate challenges faced by U-M students. We will also be joined by The Program on Intergroup Relations (IGR) and the LSA Inclusive Pedagogies group in highlighting concrete pedagogical practices that faculty can adopt to deliberately cultivate a teaching-learning environment where all students are treated fairly, have equal access to learning, and feel welcome, valued, challenged, and supported in succeeding in the field of study.
Sessions are free and open to U-M instructors in any field. Anyone who registers for 2 or more sessions is invited to join us at a catered closing luncheon reflecting upon the series. Please RSVP.
