Attend the kick-off Black History Month event: A Conversation with Dr. Yusef Salaam Black History Month will kick-off with keynote Dr. Yusef Salaam. Dr. Salaam, part of the Exonerated Five, who actively works to advocate on issues of mass incarceration, police brutality and misconduct, false confessions, press ethics and bias, race and law, and the disparities in America’s criminal justice system, especially for young men of color. Since his release more than 20-years ago, Yusef has become a family man, father, poet, activist, and inspirational speaker. In 2016, Dr. Salaam received a lifetime achievement award from President Barack Obama.
