The biology education research group led by Dr. Abdi Warfa at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities seeks an applicant for a 1-year postdoctoral research scholar. The scholar would take the lead on a project examining student-teacher and student-student interactions in undergraduate STEM learning environments (i.e., classroom discourse behaviors). The candidate will analyze previously collected data on this topic, collect new data examining student-student discourse, and will have the opportunity to develop new research questions of interest to them.
This position is a full-time with an expected start date of September 2019. The base salary is $48,426 and includes benefits as established by the University's HR department. Renewal of subsequent years will depend on funds availability, performance, and project needs. To apply, a candidate must have either a PhD in a biology field with demonstrated experience in biology teaching or education research, or have a Master’s degree in a biology field with a PhD in STEM education, learning sciences or equivalent areas.
