The Institute for Disease Modeling open research positions

The Institute for Disease Modeling (in Bellevue, WA), is looking for some researchers. There are  three open positions, and they are really fantastic opportunities. Researchers focus on using mathematical modeling to aid in the eradication of major diseases in developing nations (among working on other important public health issues). They work closely with partners in universities, governments, NGOs, various public health officials, and groups such as the Gates Foundation, Path, Fred Hutch, etc. Specifically, they are looking for one research scientist, one statistician, and one post-doc.

The descriptions can be found here:

These are fantastic opportunities (that are well compensated), and all of the post-docs have had great success moving on to faculty positions as well as more industry-centered positions.  Many of the senior researchers have varied backgrounds, such as in chemistry, biology, physics, etc; IDM is focused on finding intelligent and motivated individuals, rather than those with specific training in public health (in other words, having a background that is somewhat tangential to epidemiology is definitely not a problem).

If anyone has any questions, contact Mandy Izzo.
