[MICDE] U-M students invited to apply for MICDE fellowships

Greetings,

The deadline for University of Michigan students to apply for Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering (MICDE) Fellowships for the 2016-2017 academic year has been extended to April 22, 2016. These $4,000 fellowships are available to students in both the Ph.D in Scientific Computing and the Graduate Certificate Progam in Computational Discovery and Engineering, or graduate students not yet enrolled but planning to do so. Those falling in the last category may simultaneously submit program and fellowship applications.
Fellows will receive a $4,000 research fund that can be used to attend a conference, to buy a computer, or for any other advisor-approved activity that enhances the Fellow’s graduate experience. We also ask that Fellows present a poster at the MICDE Symposium in Spring 2017.
Interested students should download and complete the application form, have it signed by their advisor, and submit it with a one-page resume to MICDE-apps@umich.edu. The due date for applications has been extended to April 22, 2016.

We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, including women and minorities.

Best regards,

Ken Powell, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Aerospace Engineering
MICDE Associate Director for Education

Krishna Garikipati, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics
MICDE Associate Director for Research
