Registrations still open. Introducing the Global Health Peru Program in Lima, Peru

Greetings from Peru!

We are writing to introduce the Global Health Peru Program at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru.

This program will allow international students to study and acquire research experience in Peru through courses, rotations and public health research projects in Peru, developed by the most recognized professors from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), the leading biomedical research institution in Peru.

A few of our 2014 course highlights include:

➢ Global Health, Public Health and Medical Spanish 2014 Course
This course is directed at university students and professionals who seek an intensive academic and hands-on experience looking at public health and community health in Peru. Students will participate in multidisciplinary coursework, field visits, a research project, and an intervention to improve health in an indigenous community. In addition, Medical Spanish classes will be provided in order for students to communicate in basic terms during site visits and field work, as well as conduct a basic medical interview.

➢ Global Health Research Experience
This immersive rotation provides students with academic understanding and project-based experience with scientific research in Lima, Peru under a researcher at the UPCH’s School of Public Health and Administration. Students will participate in existing research projects in UPCH, which includes ones aiming to increase poor, pregnant women’s access to health systems, and improving maternal and child health in Peru through information and communication technologies.
