It's time to register for the next FEMMES Capstone!!! If you don't already know about FEMMES, here's a short description of what we do:
FEMMES (Females Excelling More in Mathematics, Engineering and Science) is an educational outreach organization that seeks to inspire young girls to gain interest in the STEM fields. Our Capstone events host approximately 100-120 4th-6th grade girls from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dexter, and the metro Detroit area , where they will spend the day with UM professors, faculty, and students. The girls will engage in hands-on science activities hosted by different faculty and student organizations (4 different activities, each lasting 45 minutes, with a light breakfast and lunch included).
We would love for you to volunteer as a group leader for the FEMMES Capstone Event! Group Leaders lead a group of 10-12 girls through the various faculty-led activities. We are looking for enthusiastic, inspiring students to help share their passion for science and learning to these girls. As a volunteer Group Leader, you will have to attend one mandatory training session held during the two weeks prior to the event.
This year's capstone will be on Saturday, March 22nd from 7:30 am to 3:30pm.
