Seminar: Earth and Environmental Science

This week, the Earth and Environmental Sciences Smith Lecture speaker is Harald Behrens, a professor at Institute for Mineralogy, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany.  Prof Behrens is an experimental petrologist interested in magmatic and volcanic processes, including elemental partitioning and magma differentiation, viscosity, diffusion and other kinetic processes, and the role of volatiles in silicate melts.
 
The title of his talk is: Volatiles in Magmas - Learning from Laboratory Studies About Volcanic Eruptions.
