Event: Live Feed Workshop: Taking High Resolution Stacked Pictures of Insects

Taking High Resolution Stacked Pictures of Insects: Live USGS and DIY techniques

This Thursday (September 26) at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time we will be running a live demonstration of the equipment and techniques we use to take the high resolution portrait shots of insects found on our Flickr site:

These shots will blow up to 5X8 feet without pixilating.

Our set up includes about $8,000.00 of camera, lens, flash, stackshot rail equipment, and stacking software.  However, if you already own an even marginally good camera with a macro lens we can show you how to create the same type pictures for no additional cost.

In our live demonstration we will show both approaches and the demonstration should last a little less than an hour.

To watch the demonstration the easiest thing to do is to log into the official USGS YouTube site:

And the live video feed should pop up automatically.
