Faculty Positions

Job opportunity at Centre College, Danville, KY

Dear Colleague:

As chair of the Biology Program at Centre College, I am asking
your assistance in identifying doctoral candidates or post-doctoral
students in your department who would be a strong candidate for a
part-time visiting position at our college.  Next spring term (2014), we
have a faculty opening to teach one or two sections of our introductory
biology course and two or three sections of our introductory biology lab
course.  The specific job expectations are provided below.

Part-time visiting position in Biology for Spring Term 2014
(classes start February 5, 2014 and final exams end May 21, 2014.)

Teaching responsibilities include:  One or two sections of
Introductory Biology lecture (3 hours per week per section) and two or
three sections of Introductory Biology lab (3 hours per week each
section). The Introductory Biology course focuses on evolution, ecology
and diversity. The introductory laboratory class is co-taught with another
faculty member who will take care of all set-up and take-down of the lab.
The lecture course will most likely have an enrollment of 25-30 students;
while the lab will have a maximum enrollment of 28 students.

Qualifications: Successful applicant will either hold a PhD or
will be near completion of a PhD in a biological discipline.
