Other (summer field studies)

Dear Faculty:

I am pleased to share with you the opportunities for summer field studies the Institute for Sustainable International Studies has to offer your students in Belize this June and July. Sessions run in two week segments, June 1 – 29, July 6 – August 3, and students can combine courses for a four week study abroad experience.

Ø  Tropical Forests: From Destruction to Conservation
Ø  Documentary Filming in Belize: Art, Culture and Wildlife (with Emmy winning videographers)

These field courses take advantage of the rich social, cultural and natural environment of Belize. The courses provide students with a real world setting which brings them face to face with the issues and content for their learning, challenge them to link theory and practice and stimulate their intellectual curiosity.
ISIS courses are designed as 3 credit hour courses and students receive credits from Sacred Heart College transferrable with home institution approval.  For more information about instructors and syllabi and to download forms, see the ISIS website.  The application deadline is March 15th 2013.
For Custom or Existing Belize Programs:  If you already have or would like to develop a custom program, the ISIS Team creates or enhances quality, faculty-led courses incorporating Belize's natural and cultural elements into the course work.   Service Learning opportunities are also available.  For more information contact me or visit our website,www.isisbelize.com, and our page at Facebook.

Sincerely,

Nancy L. Adamson, Ph.D.
