Applications are invited from candidates interested in conducting postdoctoral
research at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR) during the
year 2013, for a period of 1-2 years, in topics related to drylands and which include
among others: Desert ecology, Solar energy and environmental physics, Architecture
and town planning, Rainfed and irrigated agriculture, Hydrology, Aquaculture,
Environmental microbiology, Desalination and Water Treatment, and Biotechnology. A

Candidates should contact prospective supervisors before applying for a scholarship.
 Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to candidates that received
their Ph.D. degree within the last six years.
 The program is open to scientists from all over the world.
 The scholarship includes a yearly fellowship of approximately $26,000
(in Israeli currency), round trip travel fare and free of charge dwelling
at the local housing complex.
 The deadline for applications is March 17th, 2013 and applicants will
be notified of the Steering Committee’s decision by May, 2013.
 Fellowships are not available to those who received their Ph.D. at BGU.

Hereby announces the enrollment for
Kreitman Post-Doctoral Scholarships for the
academic year 2013-2014

The program is open for candidates that have completed their PhD studies
within the past five years and are interested in performing research at the
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

Candidates must first find a host advisor

The scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis

The scholarship will provide an annual sum of 081,08 NIS that will be
covered in equal shares by the Kreitman School and the advisor

The scholarship may be extended for a second year, pending submission of
an advancement report approved by the advisor, and the Kreitman School.
Applications will be received from candidates that have completed their
PhD studies within the past five years, or that are currently in their final
year of their PhD studies. In such cases, the scholarship will be activated
pending submission of their PhD thesis and completion of all other
academic requirements towards receiving the PhD degree

department by e-mail is April 4, 2013
Decisions will be made May 2013
