It appears as though the Department of Sociology will have a few GSI positions available to offer to non-sociology graduate students in the Winter 2013 semester.
If you know of someone who is looking for a position for next semester (and would be qualified to teach a course in sociology), please encourage them to apply. Please note that the application process is now run via the online system at umjobs.org. You can find the posting by searching for job opening # 76125; this positing includes the courses we anticipate hiring outside GSIs for, but they are as follows:
