·  The program is designed to create a new generation of sustainability scholars
·  Two-year fellowship follows the academic cycle, with the first cohort beginning in September 2013
·  Applications are due on Dec. 15, 2012.
·  Up to 10 full-time postdoctoral scholars will be selected this year
·  Each fellow receives an annual stipend of at least $52,000, U-M medical and dental benefits, and access to $2,000-5,000 per year for travel and research.
·  Prospective candidates are required to secure a U-M faculty mentor with whom they would work should they be awarded a fellowship.
·  The program provides approximately 33% of the funding for each fellow, with the remainder shared between the postdoc's home academic unit and a sustainability-oriented collaborating partner.
·  The home academic unit, collaborating partner, and/or faculty mentor must provide any additional funding required for salaries to be competitive in their discipline.
·  Teaching appointments, when used as a funding mechanism, require the fellow to join LEO, and fellows can teach no more than one course per year.
·  The home unit is required to provide appropriate space and a standard lecturer computer package.
