BIOLOGY NONMAJORS. Elon University and the Biology Department invite applications for a tenure track position in general biology for non-science majors at the Assistant Professor level, beginning in August 2018. A Ph.D. in biological science or science education is required, along with a proven commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. Teaching responsibilities will center around the teaching and coordination of Biology courses for non-science majors and courses in Elon’s General Studies program. Teaching may also include interdisciplinary science courses for non-science majors or majors courses appropriate to the candidate’s expertise. The ability to advise and engage undergraduates in research appropriate to Elon University is expected. The successful candidate will be a broadly-trained biologist with a non-laboratory research focus. Biology Education Research focused on undergraduates, research that utilizes established databases, or field collection of data, is encouraged.
