I'm in a program at MSU that is specifically for career changers with science research experience. They are starting a new fellowship cohort next spring and are trying to get the word out.
The gist of the program is, basically, a few education classes at MSU and a year teaching internship tuition-free. Followed by a $10,000 salary supplement your first 4 years working, while you are obliged to teach in a low resource area (anywhere in the US).
I know a lot of grad students in EEB are not planning on the academia route and don't know other options. Maybe no one is interested in secondary teaching, but just to let people know about other options is there any way you could spread the word about this fellowship program?
