The RELATE Workshops are intensive six-week course to develop the tools to effectively communicate research. Participants actively develop and practice communications techniques throughout the workshop and receive feedback from professional science communicators.
This year, we are hosting two workshops: Communication Fundamentals and Advanced Oral Communication. Those who complete Fundamentals will develop a short talk to be shared via social media, and Advanced Oral participants will create and deliver a 15-20 minute presentation in a community outreach event. (Note that you *must* complete the Communication Fundamentals workshop before participating in Advanced Oral Communication!)
These courses are intended for PhD students with a defined research project and postdocs in any Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline. Communication Fundamentals will be hosted during the summer of 2016, workshop sessions will be held Thursdays from 2:30pm to 5:50pm from June 9th to July 14th. Take a look at the Fundamentals schedule; we hope that you'll apply! Details about future iterations of Communication Fundamentals and information about Advanced Oral Communication will be coming soon.
