STEAM Summer @ WCC Feb 1, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Hope your semester is off to a good start! I am writing to ask a favor:

On February 1st, my HHMI team will be co-hosting a "STEAM Summit" at Washtenaw Community College. The Summit will be a poster session-style event, in which graduate students (and possibly also undergraduates) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Design, and Mathematics will share their research projects with current WCC students. The goals of this event are to stimulate interest in STEAM research and career paths, and to share the exciting things that are going on at UM with WCC students.

Can you help me identify 1-2 graduate students (or postdocs, or undergrads) in your disciplinary area who would be interested in participating in this event?

The Summit is scheduled to run from 11am-1pm at Washtenaw Community college on Wednesday, February 1st. We would love to have one graduate student participant from each of the following disciplinary areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Astronomy. For Mathematics, we'd like to have 2 or more representatives, if at all possible.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you know of someone who would be able to participate in this outreach event.

Thanks!

Anne
