Case Competition: Fake News

Greetings!

We are excited to announce that Munger Graduate Residences is hosting its fifth Case Competition!  In addition to substantial monetary awards, this is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with other professionals, work on a real-world multidisciplinary issue, and grow your Michigan network!

The topic of this Case Competition is “Fake News.” A detailed prompt will be released to registrants beginning Monday, February 6th.  The competition is tentatively set to take place in late March.

The deadline for registration is Friday, February 17 at 11:59pm. Registration is as simple as signing up on the linked form.  If you are interested in participating, we highly encourage you to register here, even if you do not yet have a team in mind. If you would like to be assigned to a team, please email warrenp@umich.edu or lstefans@umich.edu. Those who do not have a team by the deadline will be grouped, at our discretion, into a team.

Two information sessions will be held on Monday, February 6th and Thursday, February 9th at 7:30pm in the Munger Multipurpose Room (Lower Level of Munger Residences).  Information sessions provide an opportunity for students to learn more about the Case Competition and meet potential team members.  Those unable to participate in an information session can request a copy of the presentation by emailing warrenp@umich.edu or lstefans@umich.edu.  While participation in an information session is not mandatory, the competition will require:

1.) at least one member of each team to briefly present their team’s submitted poster proposals; and
2.) at least one member of the team be a Munger resident.

Your participation in this extraordinary event is highly encouraged, and we are excited to learn about your ideas.  Please send any questions to warrenp@umich.edu or lstefans@umich.edu.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!
