MIT Sloan: Post-doc Position Available

The System Dynamics Group at the MIT Sloan School of Management invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher to work on a new study examining the future of automotive mobility. The study will examine issues including: the evolution of vehicle technologies and fuels, the availability of roads and refueling infrastructure, consumer preferences, and disruptive technologies such as shared and autonomous vehicles. The researcher will be responsible for modeling vehicle fleet dynamics under a range of technology and policy scenarios, requiring strong collaboration with experts in academia and industry. The study is expected to commence in April 2016.

The ideal candidate will have: a PhD in engineering, management or similar, with demonstrated expertise in simulation modeling using system dynamics, agent-based modeling or related disciplines; research experience in the study of innovation diffusion in the automotive, transportation or energy industries; an understanding of discrete choice models; a proven publication record; and the ability to work independently.
