Call for Abstracts: Northwestern's BGSA Graduate Research Conference

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Northwestern’s Black Graduate Student Association is pleased to announce its 19th Annual Graduate Research Conference that will be held on April 23rd 2016 at the Loyola University Water Tower Campus in downtown Chicago. This year’s conference theme is A Day in the Life of Us. We invite graduate students across the Midwest to submit abstracts and present their work.

As with previous conferences, the goal of our conference is to highlight the work of scholars of color as well as scholars whose work touches communities of color. We strongly encourage students from all disciplines to present their research, including humanities, business, STEM, social sciences, law, and the arts. Students can present their work as a poster or oral presentation. Travel grants of up to $100 will be available for students traveling more than 180 miles. Awards will be given for best poster and oral presentation!

Conference highlights include: 1) a keynote address by Northwestern alumna, Dr. Nichole Pinkard of DePaul University, a leader in computer science and education research, 2) a pre-conference networking event with Northwestern faculty, 3) a networking lunch with Chicagoland professionals, as well as 4) professional development workshops. The conference will conclude with a reception.
