Dow Sustainability Fellows Program - 2016 Postdoctoral Cohort

The Dow Sustainability Fellows Program is now accepting applications for the 2016 postdoctoral cohort.  A brief description of the process is below and the Request for Proposals is attached.  Once applicants are screened, we plan on sending applications to department chairs for review, but please let us know if we should include additional points of contact.  Associate Deans are copied here, but please forward this note to department chairs and appropriate administrators to ensure they are aware of the process. 
                                                                                                                      
These fellowships are designed to support a new generation of sustainability scholars who understand the necessity of collaborating across disciplines and sectors to address and solve complex sustainability challenges, with a strong focus on the interface of the social sciences/humanities and the natural/physical/ engineering sciences. Each Dow Postdoctoral Fellow has a two-year appointment in a U-M academic School/College, Department, or Center and a concurrent two-year appointment as a program fellow, with appointments following traditional academic cycles. The next cohort of postdoctoral fellows will begin their term in September, 2016. Applications are being solicited from a national and international pool and are due on November 16, 2015. The selection process is as follows:

November 2, 2015
Intent to Apply form due from applicants
November 16, 2015
Complete application materials due from applicants
Late November
Complete applications and supporting letters sent to schools/colleges/departments for review
January 12, 2016
Deadline for schools/colleges/departments to identify applicants they would support (if selected) and how many Fellows they can support.
Early February
Selection decisions communicated to schools/colleges/departments
