Greetings SEEDS Friends,
Happy New Year! We hope that 2015 will bring you more success and adventures than ever before. This is a busy time of year for science programs and we have some exciting opportunities that are available for undergraduates.  The SPUR Fellowship is currently accepting applications until January 15th or all the positions are filled. We will be opening the application process for the BIG 100th ESA Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
Also, SEEDS would not exist without the help of our amazing mentors throughout the years. January is National Mentoring Month, take a moment this month to say thank you to that special mentor in your life!
In this issue:

MENTORING WORKS! January is National Mentoring Month. SEEDS could not do what we do without our mentors! As part of the Centennial celebration, we invite our mentors to share your reflections as a SEEDS mentor and we call students to express your thanks to those who have mentored you on Facebook andTwitter using the hashtag: #SEEDSMentors. Learn more on ourSEEDS Mentoring Month page.
  • Don't forget to thank your mentor on January 15th!

The SPUR Fellowship is the highest honor in the SEEDS program, and fellows are encouraged to be the outstanding leaders in the future of ESA. The award supports the undergraduate student in designing and conducting an ecology research project of interest.  SEEDS has established partnerships with field stations and mentors to offer exciting summer opportunities that will be tailored to meet your interests, career objectives and growth as a scientist.
