Call for Volunteers for Great Lakes Bowl 2014

It is that time of the year again to start thinking about volunteering for the 2014 Great Lakes Bowl, a Great Lakes regional National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB). NOSB is a national academic competition where teams of high school students compete for the regional and national title. The matches feature quiz-bowl style rounds and challenge questions that test a team's ocean and Great Lakes knowledge. The questions focus on math and science related to ocean and Great Lakes biology, chemistry, geology, physics, technology, history and economics. Learn more about our bowl by visiting our website
This year the Great Lakes NOSB will be held on February 1, 2014, on the University of Michigan's campus in the School of Natural Resources and Environment's building (DANA building).

The Great Lakes NOSB would not take place without our wonderful volunteers. Every year, we have highly qualified volunteers that donate a Saturday to encourage these high school students to pursue higher education in science.  The high school students really enjoy hearing about all the diverse careers and experiences that volunteers bring to the Great Lakes Bowl. Your role as a volunteer is highly valued by everyone involved so please save February 1st, 2014 on your calendar to volunteer for the Great Lakes Bowl. We look forward to seeing veteran volunteers and new volunteers!
